VBAC after 2 c's?

I had a c-section with my daugher after failing to progress. I got to about a 7 and my body stopped.  My water had been broken for 12 hours. I really don't remember if there was an issue with her heartbeat, but I remember being hooked up to different machines.  This was almost 8 years ago.

With my son, I was also a c-section because he was big (9 lb 6 oz) and breech.  This was almost 7 years ago.

I am now pregnant with our 3rd child.  Is it safe for me and the baby to do a VBAC after 2 c-sections? I have not discussed this with my doctor yet, but will be meeting with him for our 2-week visit on Wednesday.

Any information is greatly appreciated.

The short answer is: yes. I've personally known 3 women who have had VBA2C, one of them even birthed at home.

However, be prepared to look hard for a doctor willing to assist you. I've heard a lot of women talk about weeks to months of searching for a doctor who was confident in their body. Have you thought about a midwife? You may have better luck with someone who isn't trained to view birth as a dangerous event.

I sincerely hope you're able to have a VBA2C. Good luck and happy birthing!

Hi Jackie,

Welcome to the board!  Please let us know what your dr says at your next appt.  (If he isn't willing to let you vbac, he might be able to recommend someone.)  I've got my fingers crossed for you that your dr is vbac friendly.  :0)
