Local ICAN - great resource!
Hi all! I've posted a few times since DH and I started thinking about baby #2. I just wanted to share that I joined the local ICAN chapter yahoo group and wow, it's been great. It's almost too active - lots of emails flying around. ;) But through that I have found several doctors that deliver in our medical center and will do VBACs. They're still few and far between, and apparently becoming less by the day. I still haven't decided for sure to go the VBAC route - it's hard to not just stick with what I know and stay with my current OB and hospital. Not to mention the inconvenience of driving a long while to the hospital and for OB visits. But then I think of people who live in small towns and have no choice but to drive an hour - seems like a small price to pay to have a VBAC. If anything keeps me from it, it will likely be the fear of going through it all again, only to end up and emergency C-sec again.
Well, I hope y'all are all doing great and I enjoy checking in on you to see how your VBACs are going. Once we get a BFP, I'll repost and keep you updated on my search and decision.
If anyone is new to this board and reading this, go to the ICAN website and look up your local chapter and join (free for non-medical people). It's the best resource I've found for LOCAL docs and women who can help.
Thanks!
