well I'm thinking about this because my ex's new wife seems to think I should take Finn right away to his doctor to talk about him going vegan *rolling my eyes*. When he went in for his check up in June/July, our doctor was already aware of my veganism, Finn's refusal to drink cow's milk and preferring my various non-dairy milks. Doc was fine with it, said Finn was on schedule (for himself... he's rather short, but with a 4'11" mother, he's not likely to be tall)

My brother is a vegan pediatrician who has guided us and continues to guide us all the time. So I'm completely covered! I would NEVER tell the nurse practitioner I see, the woman is VERY ignorant in the ways of nutrition. She told me that while I was nursing I needed to drink an additional QUART of milk. I just said "ok" to get out of there. I'm not here to educate people (she's definitely not interested in learning) on the proper levels of calcium that is actually needed and alternate sources for it. :o) I haven't told my daughter's local pediatrician because it hasn't come up. We've been nursing (until a couple weeks ago) so the whole cow's milk thing hasn't been an issue. So I guess when I go next time I'll tell her we're using rice milk. I think it'll be fine (fingers crossed).

My doctor knows that I "converted" to veganism, but no, I did not ask her for her opinion. She has not questioned me about my food choices nor has she made any comments other than to say that I am healthy!
