What are those things that people sometimes say that (being a vegetarian or vegan) just make you angry?

While I'm not sure if it was meant to be mean or if it was just thoughtless, my son came home from a visit with his step mom a week or so ago and told me that first thing he was in her car, she asked him if he wanted chicken nuggets. Is it just me, or is it pretty easy to understand that chicken nuggets are NOT part of a vegetarian diet? This from the same woman who thinks I need to talk to my doctor about my son wanting to be vegan (we saw him just a few months ago and he already knew I was vegan and had no problem) and thought my list of vegan sources of calcium and protein were the only things my son could eat. ugh. I'm so glad he only visits every other weekend, but I'm starting to wonder if I need to send him on visits with supplies of vegan food.

Ugh! How dense can people get? How did your son react to such a question?

The poor boy... he says he was very hungry so he accepted two because she wouldn't take him somewhere (like Taco Bell) where they had vegetarian fast food. (I just asked him- so my intention to send him with vegetarian food is set. I hate to help them because they're so self-centered and obnoxious, but I have to to make sure he has vegetarian food.)

Well this hadn't been meant really as a vent, but I'm going to vent now after the conversation I had with ex and I figure this is a better thread than any to do it in.
Had a long-ish talk yesterday. Poor guy, my son hadn't understood the reason why he was told "no Taco Bell" and offered the chicken nuggets- supposedly there wasn't one near-by at the time (although he swears he remembers seeing one) and wife #4 didn't realize there were vegetarian options there and she thinks that the food is horrible (well maybe the meat is there, but having not eaten in in about 5 years, I don't really remember). With comments from my son that I could only take as their lack of support for his decision to be vegan, I sent a suitcase full of food this last visit. Wife #4 had the gall to be offended about it; the same woman who has acted like it's impossible to feed my small son vegetarian food. And beyond her rambling worries about soy and phyto-estrogens, I got to listen to my ex repeatedly natter on about "I'm all for him cutting back on meat, but not vegan, not until he's like a teen." On that one, I became a broken record saying that the APA has said that vegetarian diets are appropriate and safe for children. I'm still half-tempted to see if Friend of the Court is able to compel them to feed him vegetarian foods. Ex also seems to have decided (although he never said it directly) that my son only wants to be vegan when he's around me; hello??? He's 10! and he's just transitioning to vegan... he's still learning what to avoid, what to eat. I'm so disgusted with them.
