I hang out on the March 09 playgroup too! I was browsing this board because I'm trying to figure out how to work from home -- for me, I want to create a freelance marketing biz targeted at small companies with little or no marketing budget.
You should visit www.hubspot.com. They specialize in inbound marketing, and as a result, they offer a ton of free downloads, free training, free ebooks, webinars, etc. that teach you how to best utilize blogging, search engine optimization, Twitter, YouTube, various social media sites, etc. You need to register, and someone will probably email you a few times to see if they have any opportunity to sell you their software or services, but it's worth it. The quantity of free information on this site is unbelievable. If nothing else, it will give you ideas on how to drive traffic to your site/blog without a huge investment.
