I just started back to work today. Last night I took out some frozen milk and the bag leaked and I lost all the milk, I used Lanionsh bags. Does anyone have any suggestions on better storage bags that will not leak when i defrost them?

I use them too and its been great... be careful with the bags when frozen, dropping them can cause the plastic to crack.

Also, I use the double seal... making sure I squeeze the air out and then that they're both locked. I gently hold it upside down and make sure there is no milk anywhere leaking out.

Then, when my husband thaws them, he keeps them standing upright in a cup so even if the seal does somehow come loose, the milk won't leak out.

we just use a large plastic cup. =)

I started using the medela bags but switched to the lansinoh b/c I found them more reliable.

Make sure you don't over fill, close both zips carefully, and thaw upright as Melissa said.  I always let them freeze lying flat so that they stored more easily.

I haven't tried any other bags, though, so I can't suggest any others.

I had that problem too. I'm keeping milk in the deep freezer and it seems to get banged up a lot in there.

I use a bottle warmer to thaw, so I put the milk bag in a ziploc bag first -- that way if it does leak, it just goes into another ziploc and is still good.

I have used the Gerber, the Medela & the Lansinoh ones.  The only ones I had trouble with leaking were the Gerber ones, but I think that was as Melissa said, because they got dropped out of the freezer on ocassion from being stored in the door.  I did drop one Lansinoh one over the weekend and I went ahead and put it in another ziploc bag so when its thawed, if it has a leak it would just leak into the other bag and I wouldn't loose the milk.  That may be an option as a precaution, but other than that, the other posters had some great suggestions.
