I have felt a little off all week -- congestion, cough, sinus pressure, but no fever.  I'm been monitoring since Kylie likely had H1N1 last week.  Today at work I felt horrible, my face got hotter and tighter, so I headed to the nurse and sure enough a temp of 101.  So, questions:

1.  Should I still feed Ryan directly?  If not, he doesn't take a bottle, so?????

2.  Should I pitch the milk I pumped at lunch today?  I don't need it.

3.  Any other tips?

I have an appt at the doctor's office tomorrow morning to test for flu, so that both my school knows as well as Ryan's pedi -- I'll keep you posted.

A big thank you to Jill (scrappyjill) for the awesome siggy.

Your milk should not be contagious, and in fact will have valuable antibodies, so no fear about using the milk.

The CDC has recommended pumping and having someone else care for the baby ... but that doesn't make a lot of sense (especially when you have a baby who doesn't like the bottle!!!)

A more common sense approach would be to continue to feed directly at the breast, but wear a mask and wash hands well before feeding.  Remainder of child care responsibilities should be passed off to someone else as much as possible.

(((((hugs))))) I'm so sorry you're feeling sick!  I hope you recover quickly.

Thanks!  I took Advil at 5:30p last night and by 9:30, I woke up, drenched in sweat, and haven't had a fever since.  I am going in to EGFP at 8:30 -- want to be sure I didn't Kylie's strep or H1N1....  :)

I just kept feeding Ryan...

I was negative for influenza....so, probably some random viral thing.  Ryan has had a cough/congestion for two weeks, so I may have finally picked that up from him...
