Time change - ugh

My volume has been down this week.  We have a variety of issues this week.  Brady has a cold, he's hitting the 4 month mark, and the time change have him waking up once early in the morning to nurse around 5 am.  Early enough that i am nursing him twice before work instead of once.   So my pumping volume has been low this week, i think because he's nursing more in the morning and my body hasn't adjusted yet.  Just day two of this *new* morning nursing thing....

Does the time change screw everyone up?  All the sudden my 12:30 pump is at 11:30 when I CAN'T take off to the pump room - everyone else is gone to lunch, i am by myself...  Yesterday I did it earlier than my normal - because of the time and because i was having some engorgement and soreness in one breast - and was a couple of ounces short.  Also, how is it that an engorged sore breast can have a normal output?  is it more of a clogged duct thing than an engorgement thing?

My body will adjust to the new time, right?

It does sound like it may be the beginning of a clogged duct more than engorgement/fullness, especially if you are having normal output on that one side.

I haven't seen a difference in Madison yet, well I have, but the sitter is starting to put her on a bit more of a schedule there, so I don't know if its the time change or the adjustment to the schedule during the day.  I know i was hoping the time change would help the toddler, who I've been having massive problems with getting to bed the last few weeks, but so far its not helping me get her in bed any earlier...

I'm sorry you're having issues w/ the time change!  It does sound like things are adding up and causing problems.

I would expect that over the next week or so it will settle out and your body will adjust to the time change.

Well my output yesterday ended up ok and the soreness is mostly gone today.  But LO is still waking up for the early morning feed, which is ok I guess if he needs it.  He has also been wanting to eat a bit more often - pushing to 2 1/2 hrs instead of 3.  So maybe it's more of a growth spurt than anything else... We'll see i guess.  He is with me at work today so I won't pump again until tomorrow.  His normal routine is off for some reason.

Brandy, I love the new pictures of the boys, they are so adorable!  Glad to hear the soreness is just about gone, I am feeling like I am getting a clogged duct also at the moment, I thought this morning it was just fullness since Madison had slept through the night and since i hadn't nursed her this morning on that side, when I went to pump it would be fine.  And the soreness did go away for a bit after pumping, but its starting to get really sore again now, something that normally doesn't happen to me. Blah, just what I need right now...

Hopefully his schedule will even out soon for you.
