When to replace pumpink kit?

I've been wondering this myself. I change the little white membranes pretty often and even just purchased new tubing (haven't sterilized and started using yet), however I have noticed something funky going on with the 'power' or what I am perceiving as the power lately.
A few weekends back I was having the beginnings of our newest nursing strike, this time only during day hours, go figure! (details for another post)
So....when little one wouldn't nurse, I went to pump and wasn't having any luck. I attributed this at the time to the stress of her refusing the breast. I put down the pump and came back later. I thought it was in my head but I thought I could hear the motor making a different noise than usual, almost like it was working harder, even at the same suction level. On an whim, I switched to battery power, and BAM! let down. Again, this could have been psychological, but I swear the suction changed when I switched from the AC power to battery. I have since tried this one other time when I noticed a reduction in power and it worked again. I still get good use from the power pack, but every once in a while, I swear it 's not working properly. I'm thinking of ordering a new AC adapter. But maybe it's the motor itself? I don't think there's any way to tell for certain. Maybe call Medela, I hear their customer service is amazing. If I continue to have problems, I am going to ask them to replace my motor.
Let me know how it goes.
