So i'm ashamed to say my baby was born july 9th, 2008 and I still have to lose 20lbs of baby weight!

I've neverrrrr had to lose weight...i was 125lbs pre preg, gained 40lbs, lost 20 within a week of giving birth and have sat there ever since!...oh! and i'm about 5'5!

I'm still nursing my son about 4x a day...I have an elliptical machine that I need to start using

Any suggestions on how much time I should do on the ellip? Should I do crunches? situps?

Any suggestions are welcome!

Oh I love the eliptical. If only I could go back to the gym.

I would recommend starting with at least 30 min of cardio 3 times a week. If you can do 5 days a week that would be even better. You need to make sure you eat healthy and clean. You have to watch carbs, calories fat and sodium. Increase your water intake to about 80 oz a day and that will help clear out any water weight you are holding on to. You also want to try to avoid processed foods and stick with fresh when you can.

As for other exercises each builds muscle in that area however doesn't mean you will lose inches in that area. Your body will burn fat from wherever it wants. I love squats, pushups and crunches. The team PBWL thread is a great place to keep track of how many mins you have worked out each week.

thanks so much for the reply! holy crap 80ozs of water! LMAO! i'm SUCH a bad water drinker! I struggle to drink 64ozs :)

Yea it's nice to have an eliptical machine since my little guy doesnt like walks a whole lot, plus i babysit another small child...I have been going on my elliptical for 20-30mins at a time and trying to do it daily...is that ok?

I eat like crap! and I know it :) I alwayssss have...hard habit to break! I've never had to worry about my weight, I use to walk EVERYWHERE cause I dont drive...it use to take me like 1hr 20mins to walk to work and i loved it...now since i moved i couldnt walk to work, I had to take a bus, then I got pregnant, and now I'm a stay at home mama to a 1yr old and i babysit a 15mth old...lol...you'd think they keep me on my feet enough to shed some pounds, but they entertain each other so well :)

If you want to workout everyday i would get a good strength training dvd and alternate days. That way you are building muscles everywhere. I do know about the eating habits and it took me a long while to get the hang of it. Start small and just try cutting our butter and sugar and then go from there. If you just reduce your calories by a few hundred a day and add exercise you should start seeing your weight drop soon.

I have a 2 mth old and a 16mth old. You would think I wouldn't have to workout at all between the 2 but I do and I actually use it as my release from the day. I love it. Nothing like working your muscles and working up a good sweat. lol.
