I don't know what this is either, but on Friday Elise came home with some tests in her bag. The had questions like who jumped first Al or Sam? And some fill in the blank ones to see if she could pick the right word, also a question about plural. She got 69% on the first one, Yikes! But the second she got 92%, only one wrong. Is this what you're talking about?
AR is Accelerator Reader, this is a program where the kids read books then take a test on them and get points. They may not have brought it up yet for 1st graders but they could before the years out. I basically test their comprehension of the book, it's a great way to see if they understand what they are reading.
No AR reading and testing yet...I am not sure if they do at this school, the one we left almost 5 years ago did and my kids loved doing it...it is a great program! Cami did it last year...however it was not required..I just remembered this before posting! LOL
