Evan got his first report card of the year and he got straight A's!  So proud of him!

We have a parent-teacher conference on Tuesday to talk about his behavior.  I know he's been having issues with talking during class and things like that.  The teacher isn't too worried, but she did say she'd like to talk to us.

I talked with Evan at length about that the other day, and today he got to choose something from the prize box for being abnormally quiet during class :o)  Glad he's already making some improvements, and hopefully it continues.

Good job, Evan! We don't have letter grades until midway through the 3rd grade.

Matthew will get his report card at our parent-teacher conference next Friday. Since I volunteer in the classroom, I have gotten a preview of the conference, however, and it's all good.

thats great. we dont get letter grades her either. We got the first report card a few weeks ago and just had 3 boxes to check, meeting expectation, struggling with a line for the teacher to add subjects he is having issues with and having dificulty and again a line for the teacher to elaborate. Also there are boxes she can ceck if she wants a meeting and vice versa for parents.

I've found that a lot of schools don't do letter grades at this age.  It's very common around here, so I was surprised to see that.  They didn't do them in kindy - they got M (mastery), P (progressing toward mastery), and N (not progressing).  The differences between school systems are interesting, that's for sure.
