I'm pretty sure my DS has silent reflux. He's 9.5 weeks and this week my ped recommended I put him on Nutramigen. He's 14 lbs 5 ozs and I don't want him on formula so I took him to a new ped and LC yesterday and both said I should not stop breastfeeding him:) They both said he's doing great and that my breastmilk isn't a problem. The ped referred me to a ped GI specialist who we will see next week to confirm if he has reflux or not and then we might change his meds. I'm so glad I'm going to find out if he really has this problem or not and that the new ped is encouraging breastfeeding:)

I'm pretty sure my DS has reflux. He screams and vomits a lot after nursing. My older DS had it and ended up with Asthma as a complication - so I'm a little crazy about getting this under control fast. Our new Ped does not believe in medicating babies for reflux but is sending us to a pediatric GI specialist just in case. The frustrating part is I can't get an appointment until July 7th (called 3 weeks ago). I checked all of the area hospitals for an earlier appointment but all are booked or not taking new patients. I hate that my little boy has to be miserable for so long while we wait for July. In the meantime I cut out all of the typical triggers ang high allergy foods from my diet to try to help.
I don't understand why some doctors are so against medicating a baby for reflux. Our old Ped was the same way - and my oldest son ended up on a shocking amount of medications as a consequence for asthma, pneumonia etc.
I really feel for all the Mothers and Babies going through this right now.
