I am just curious when you start feeding cereal to your little one & how did you decide to start feeding it?

Aryanna is 6 weeks old & my husband is insistant that we start feeding her cereal at night. I'm worried about this, because my husband has food allergies. I don't want Aryanna to have these also. He wants to feed her cereal in her bottle at night to help her sleep through the night before I go back to work in 2 weeks. Our pediatrician has recommended against it & my husband knows this, however he is still insistent on it.

Aryanna only gets up about once a night after her last feeding around 11 pm. The past couple nights she has been a little harder to put to sleep. She is fighting it & wants to stay up. But once she's out, she's out.

Please share your experiences & decisions!

Thanks,

Katy

Sarah is 6 weeks old and our Dr. suggested that we feed her cereal at night. She loves it and it's definetly helped her with sleeping longer.

DON'T DO IT!!!!!!!!!

you shouldn't be feeding any king of solid till at least 4 months they actually reccomend 6 months now.. but i know some babies are ready at 4. 6 weeks is WAY WAY to early and you could do more harm then good.

I have food allergies and was told to wait until 6 months to introduce solids. I would listen to your doctor.

I agree with Lisa, unless your 6 week old baby is the size of 4 to 6 month old, I would hold off till then. Plus giving them cereal won't nesessarly make them sleep thru the night.
