Bottle feeding moms, pls weigh in!!!

Hi mommies -
I, like so many of you, am worried about overfeeding my bottle fed baby. Can we do a little poll? How old is your baby and how much formula is he/she drinking?
Me: Baby Joshua is 8 weeks on Friday. I just up-ed his formula to 4.5 ounces, and he is STILL wanting another bottle less then 3 hours later, even at night! As an experiment, I fed him 5 ounces with his last bottle and it was like I drugged him... he didn't spit up at all, and fell right to sleep. I'm thinking about trying this again tonight! Do you think that means he should be eating 5 oz at a time??

My dd will also be 8 weeks on Friday and for a little over a week now shes been drinking 5 ounces about every 4-5 hrs. Kind of a relief from every 2-3 hrs. And to top it off she sleeps 6-7 hrs straight through the night. PP says its wonderful and her weight is at the 50 percentile. He says what ever Im doing to keep doing. Baby may be getting up so soon between feedings because he/she didnt get enough the first time. Babys tend to sleep better on a full and satisfied belly. As far as over feeding, they will let you know if they've had to much. And remember, the more they grow, the more they eat. Good Luck

My lil man is mainly bottle fed now..He is 6 weeks and is drinking 5ozs now..Sometimes he doesnt eat it all..but I make it every time like that because most of the time he will finish his whole bottle..And when it comes to night time he will eat then crash for 5-6 hours get up and eat..then crash for another 3 hours then eat..then he is wanting to eat every 3-4 hours during the day..till about 9pm when i give him his bottle bath him change him and put him to bed..thats his night time..:D

So who knows..I know i was feeding 4.5 for a while and he kept acting like he was starved after he was done eatting..Now he eats until he doesnt want anymore and then he sleeps so nicely..

SO its possible your lil guy wants to eat a lil more now...
