My 2 month old son just started daycare this week. He only goes 2 days since I work part time. My problem is this...When I talked to his caregiver about swaddling him for nap, she let me know that the state does not allow centers to swaddle babies for their new "safe baby" approach to care. I understand that she can't swaddle him but my son is addicted to swaddling and we weren't ready to transition him until he's at least 3 months old.
What can my husband and I do to help him nap in a crib without being swaddled? I can get him to sleep just fine but he always startles and hits himself in the face and then the crying game begins.
HELP ME, PLEASE!

My only advice to you would be to either let baby fall asleep on his own, or to place baby on his tummy or side to sleep for naps.... You may want to check to see if The day care would use something like a Halo Wrap if you provided it.... I've never had a situation like this as I've either had a live in Nanny or my Cousin watched my children, and now I'm a SAHM... So I really have no idea.

My DD's daycare would not allow blankets, but they would allow the halo sleeper.. this however does not keep their hands out of their face when sleeping.. I konw that centers also do not allow the babies to sleep on their stomachs either.. backs only.. my dd's daycare had turned her over 2 times while she was sleeping after she rolled over..

If your son does wake up at daycare after being asleep for a while that will be there responsiblity to either get him back to sleep or play with him while he is awake..

I'm sure he will be fine, and will make the adjustment fine.. Trust me it is MUCH harder on mom then it is on the baby!! I went through it with my DD two years ago and cried every day for a week..
