With food prices skyrocketing, are you concerned that you may eventually need to turn to food stamps or a food bank in order to feed your family?

It is crazy! I went shopping last week to the closest grocery store even though I knew it wasn't the cheapest one around. I figured I still be able to find some things on sale. I was wrong and everything was soo expensive.  A frozen pizza was $9!! I only got a few things and left.  Back when I 1st found out I was pregnant I tried to sign up for WIC but we couldn't qualify. They go by your household income BEFORE taxes are taken out. It's so not fair! So after taxes are taken out we would definitely qualify especially if they took into consideration the monthly mortgage and bills, but unfortuntately that's not how it works.  So I don't think we can qualify for any type of programs even though I'm not working and we have 20 mnth old DD and 5 week old DS.

We eat so many fruits and veggies and they are crazy expensive now (just like everything else).  So I plant a garden.  Things like cherry tomatoes, cucumbers, squash, red and green peppers, are so easy to grow (we live in MI) even for me!  From my small/mediumish size garden we are able to have fresh veggies every day and still have enough to share with neighbors.
