DH and I had sex for the first time last week (5 weeks pp), and everything down there felt looser. Will things "tighten up" eventually or will I remain this way? I had three stitches and even though DH said it didn't bother him, I'm worried that I will permanently be "looser." Anyone else noticed this? Would kegals fix this?

I would definitely recommend Kegels- they really do help a ton with toning things up.

I had a pretty severe tear with my first, and after a few months things felt pretty nice and tight up there again. I did a lot of "Super Kegels"- hold for 10 seconds 10 times in a row about 10 times a day. I did it while I was nursing and driving- lol! My Midwife said that for a few months things can remain swollen and a little more open up there than usual... but in time things do go mostly back to normal.

This was my third child but things were barely different when we DTD because of Kegels. I forget them if I don't link them to an activity ie while feeding the baby or while cooking, etc.

It takes awhile for them to make a difference but they are really good for getting your pelvic floor muscles back in shape (and they help with bladder control as you grow older too).

The kegals will help for sure....but since it was 5 weeks pp have you thought maybe you were just really wet? I know when we DTD I was very wet and thought I was looser but I had a c section. Then the next time it wasnt so loose.
