So it's been a while since I've dropped in. I "see" a lot of you over on FB but I thought I'd drop in to say hi and catch up a bit! =) We'll be able to buy a new computer at the end of Nov and hopefully then it won't take 15min for a page to load and then I can have plenty of time to visit every site I want!! =)
Some new things... Naomi read her first 4 or 5 sentences in the last 2 weeks! The other day when we sat down for our reading lesson she said it was boring and she didn't want to do it. I replied "Don't you want to learn to read?" and she said "I can already read now!" LOLOL I told her she has a long way to go and there's lots more to learn!
Zoe is pull-up free at night! I thought she'd never be night trained! We still have occasional accidents but last night I was up nursing the baby and Zoe got up and went potty on her own! She was whining the whole time (sleep is just as precious to her as it is to me...lol) but she did it without me having to carry her!! =) Now if we could just get her 3 year old attitude fixed! LOL
Macy is walking everywhere and climbing on everything!! She busted her lip last night trying to climb the coffee table...again! She tries so hard to keep up with the big girls! She's eating table food now and there are a gazillion jars of baby food in the pantry that she won't eat! =P Now that she's eating big food she wants it ALL the time! I can't believe she'll be 1 in 15 days!!!! AHHHH! Where did the year go? Time to have another baby I guess! LOL
I'm now keeping a friends little girl, she asked me a while back if I would do it and I said I'd pray about it. Then about two weeks ago she called and said they found blood in her panties at day care and the Dr said it wasn't any kind of infection or bowel issues and therefore couldn't rule out some sort of abuse - but he also said he couldn't confirm it without doing a more invasive exam which he didn't want to do unless absolutely necessary. So I told her to go ahead and bring her to me. Every time I keep other people's kids in my home I get overly stressed, I've worked at day cares and had 16 kids by myself before but for some reason having even one kid in my home is more stressful! Especially since my kids are very mature for their ages and have always been well-behaved (except normal age appropriate behavior stuff) and this little one will be 3 next month and speaks like she's going to be 2 next month. She has NO attention span at all (but neither does her mom...lol). Her and Zoe are 5 months apart but you'd think it was more like 15 months. I'm trying to be patient with her, I really care about these friends and I really want it to work, not to mention the extra money ROCKS! So if you think about me say a pray for me! My new favorite is praying to be slow to anger (which is already a struggle of mine). I want to be able to do this well and help her to grow and learn like I'm helping my own kids. I hope I don't sound like an awful person, I do care about her, her mom and I have been good friends since we were pg with her and Zoe. She has an older sister Naomi's age and they're best friends! I want to make sure I can do this right and help them in their time of need!
OK, babbling now. I can't wait to get a new computer and "see" you ladies more often!!!! Miss you around here!! =)
I'm so glad to see you and to hear all that is up in your life!! Sounds like you're busy and yay for all the new things going on!!
I can't believe all the babies are one already!!!(or will be soon!!) I cried the day Lydia turned one.
And yay for reading. That's the best, huh? Except that you can no longer spell the things that you want to keep secret.
I miss you guys. I've been looking for signs of Theresa and Robanne, too, and wondering how everyone is doing. But I understand being away. When I'm preggo I'm constantly on and then they are born and we're busy.
Praying for your situation and that the little girl is safe. I have heard that traumatic situations can cause delays in development so hopefully being safe and in a stimulating environment she will catch up.
So glad that things are looking good for you and running smoothly and look forward to seeing you around more.
It's good to see you on here again :) I'm glad your little cuties are doing so well and Macy looks so huge now in her pics! And i understand what you mean about being able to handle 16 kids but now one extra in the home makes a big difference. Ever since i stopped working in preschool, i have less patience with other people's kids...horrible, i know :p But i pray that God helps you to reach this little girl and that she is able to grow and thrive in your home :)
Thanks for popping in and i can't wait til you get a faster computer so you can come play here more :)
Hi Erin! It's been a long time! So Lydia is 1!! I don't know why that surprises me, I know she's a little older than Macy! LOL I hope all is well with you! Thanks so much for your prayers in my babysitting situation! And you're so right about not being able to spell secret words soon, but we at least have a little bit longer to utilize it! =)
Thanks Lindy! I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks babysitting in my home is hard! I know it sounds mean but it really is more stressful. BUT God is with me and I know He will help me to do this right!!
