DTT Grads

Many know me from the DTT boards but if you don't my name is Melanie. Married to my DH for 3 years we have a blended family a daughter 8 and a son 14. We have no children together.

Very happy with our decision not to have children together.  We have a wonderful, happy marriage and having another child would have been a strain on all of us. We really considered our other children in our thought process. Took me awhile to adjust to the idea but, now couldn't be happier.

WOW the teen years.  Holy cow it's amazing to me because everytime Nick comes home. We have shared custody so after he has been with his mom it's like WOW he has changed again.  He has grown like a weed, has out grown pretty much everything he owns it feels like every month. But I can honestly say he is still the sweetest kid you'll ever want to meet.  The only teenager that still wants to spend time with us and not stay in his bedroom day and night.  We have a great relationship and he opens up to me and talks to me about a lot of things he doesn't share with his parents. Which makes me feel great inside and great that I know he trusts me and can come to me if he needs to. 

I worry more about my girl hitting the teenage years!  Not looking forward to that at all.
