hey Guys!

Does anyone else have a VERY gassy baby?? Gas you can hear across the room? Gas that really STINKS and nearly puts my husband to shame?!  Mia Grace is 5.5 weeks now and she's so darn gassy i don't know what to do.  I don't know if they hurt her or scare her but it makes her cry alot...she'll fart, cry for a second and then is fine....i've called the doctor and asked about possible formula problems and they said not to change the formula...cycle hte legs (which i do) and give her mylicon drops (which i have been..and they might be helping a "little" but not much..)...She drinks Similac Advance in the blue bottle...i sorta want to try Similac Sensitive in the orange bottle..has anyone switched and seen a big difference? I don' tknow, does switching open her up to lactose sensitivities?

Advice, thoughts or fellow rantings would be appreciated!!

Thanks!

heather

I too have a very gassy baby.  I started out using Enfamil Lipil and changed to Enfamil Gentlease and it has been a blessing.  It is made with easy to digest proteins.  I also use Dr. Brown's bottles.  My son still has gas but it seems to have let up some.  HTH!

I am pumping and supplementing with formula. My little guy is very gassy too. He wakes up grunting and sometimes crying until he passes gas. It is very loud also.

I was supplementing with Emfamil with Iron and my PED told me to switch to Similac Sensitive. I haven't seen much of a difference. The PED told me I might not see an improvement right away but to keep using the sensitive stomach formula. So, we'll see!

Kylie had the same problem, but she takes Enfamil.  After moving her from the Enfamil Lipil to the Enfamil Gentlease (which I think is comparable to the Similac Sensative) she no longer has gas problems nor is she constipated due to the extra iron.
