I really need a sling or something similar. Has anyone tried these?

Or what would you recommend? Besides the Moby, they are a little out of our budget right now... but I really want one!

We have a Hotsling. So far my DD likes it. I put her in it when I need to do stuff around the house (vacumning, moping) when she doesn't want me to put her down. Got mine off of ebay, but Target now carries them. I also have a ring sling and haven't even tried it yet.

I ordered a Maya wrap ring sling off of Ebay for under $50 with free shipping.  It should be here in the next day or so.  I tried it out at a babywearing class that I went to, and liked it so I ordered one.

Hey Nicki -

My mom just ordered this baby wearer for me. She said that several of the women in her church use it and really like it. I have a dr. sears nojo sling, but my mom didn't like how the baby wasn't strapped or secure in it, so she wanted to get me another one. I'll let you know how I like it when I get it. But the reviews on Amazon were really favorable.

We're in the Hotsling camp too.  You can check out their website for info at www.hotslings.com.  They have all the info there regarding sizing (size charts and suggested ways to get a good fit), ways to wear the baby, videos, etc.

They are a bit pricey, but I got my first one at Target for $19.99 (I think it was a discontinued fabric and had an "as is" sticker on it...no defects).  I liked it so much I wanted a second.  The Target one had a print I couldn't wear with everything.  So, I got the black sateen Hotsling for $20 on ebay.

One thing to note....the sizes are interesting.  It's like with jeans...you know some people can wear a size 6 or a size 8 depending on how you like the fit?  It's the same with the Hotsling.  The Target sling, I was right on the border of sizing and the sling was a size 3.  Because it was the ONLY one at that price, I got it.  It was a bit roomy for my taste so I just washed it and dried it (website says you can try that to tighten it up a bit).  It shrunk down to a size 2.  My ebay sling is a size 2 and when you hold them up to each other the sizing is identical.  So, I guess my suggestion would be to size up if you're on the fence because you CAN shrink it up in the dryer.
