The girls and I started with a few non-Hasbro games that I won't name ;-) to just warm us up while we waited for DH to bring Luke home.

THen we opened up the Game of Things.  I have to admit I was worried about how it would go--it sounded just weird, but we all had a great time!  Once we got into it, there was a lot of laughter about the answers.  We did have to reject some topics as being inappropriate for kids, but it still went well.  I thought it worked out well for all my kids--ages 9, 11, 14 & 15.  This would be a hilarious game to play with adults too :-).

Our game night also had popcorn and candy involved!  We played for just short of 2 hrs (played cards after the Game of Things too).  We actually do family game night quite a bit as a family and the kids always ask to do it again.  We have a large collection of family games!

"We did have to reject some topics as being inappropriate for kids, but it still went well."

Oh my!  Do you remember what some of the rejected answers were?

"Our game night also had popcorn and candy involved!"

Yum!  IMO, any game night with candy and popcorn is a great game night.  ;)

Note right now--but I do remember my oldest (she's 16) reading the topic, then saying "Oh, that's not appropriate for Beth & Becca!" and moving on to another one.  Not a huge deal, especially since the age on the box says "Adults" so I imagine most families won't even buy the game thinking it isn't for kids.
