First of all, did anyone here know the real spelling of that?  I had to look it up, LOL!

Secondly, how the heck do I get rid of this sucker?  I swear it's a pain in my arse (literally, LOL).  Okay, so seriously, I've had this thing for like a week or two now and sometimes it bothers me, sometimes it doesn't, some days it's painful to even sit down.  I've tried Preperation H, but it's still here.  How do you get rid of these things???

Get a prescription from your doc for something stronger. I think prep h is useless. I've used suppositories via prescription and they work much better.

I also have one...ick...it was horribly horribly painful for a while but now it is definitely healing and doesn't bother me nearly as much, so I'm not using anything right now. I used the Tucs pads I had for my episiotomy for a while just to try to relieve some of the discomfort. But now that it doesn't really hurt anymore I'm just trying to keep everything moving so that there's not any excess straining, if you know what I mean.

So I guess I would say that for me, just giving it time, and also eating lots of fiber and taking stool softeners seemed to be the best course of action. I do plan to mention it to my dr. at my 6 week PP appt if it's still there (right now I know it's still there.) If it's still bothering you that much, you might need to call sooner. Sorry, I guess that's not much help.

I used Proctofoam (prescription) during pregnancy and it worked sooooo much better than Prep H. It was kind of weird feeling, but it sure took the pain/burning away and actually helped it to shrink a little (until I didn't do it consistently). I also tried a cotton ball soaked in Witch Hazel and would stick that there and let my cheeks hold it in place for a minute or so (haha..sorry!). I don't have any problems now until I use the bathroom and then it bleeds (TMI..sorry) as it has shrunk back in (again TMI!). I don't think they ever go away and you will have episodes from time to time. Best thing is like PP said, to drink lots of water and eat lots of fiber to keep things soft and regular!!
