So it seems as though my supply has decreased or my PIS pump is malfunctioning.  My son is 4 1/2 weeks old and I have been pumping daily since week 2.  I was pumping a couple of times a day but he is awake more and demanding my attention more and I am only pumping once a day.  There have been a couple of days where I didn't get to pump at all.  For a while there I was getting 3 - 4 ounces at each session but this week I am only getting 1 - 2 ounces.  DS has been eating more often which I attributed to a growth spurt.  He is gaining very well as he is 11.5 lbs.

Is it possible that skipping pumping for 2 days has caused this much of a decrease?  Could it be something else? Is it just that he is eating more and therefore there is not as much to pump?  What should I do?  I would like to store no less than a 3 ounce serving.

TIA!!

Sarah

Its probably both the dropped pump and growth spurt.  Add the pumping session back in and give it a few days.  You should see the result.
