What is the longest your baby went without sleeping?

For us, it was a very fussy 5 hours!  I'm guessing this is NOT normal?  We tried every trick in the book, and he was just so wired, we couldn't get him to sleep for anything.  Just curious what your baby's have done?

Wow!~ 5 hours!! Hasn't happened to us yet, but Bashar is just 3 weeks old.  He is up and down all day and night, I would say the longest would be 2 1/2 hours probably, IF that.  He Loves to wake up each morning around 4:30 or 5 a.m. and the only thing that gets me through it is knowing he will probably only last an hour to and hour and a half and crash again! :) ha... My other girls weren't always this sleepy though, but I can't remember. I do know my 1st did not like to nap at all after she was a year! I'd get one in if lucky and that was a lot of times if I was hold her and rocking or something! Very aggrivating! So far this one has been a sleepy boy! But he is starting to wake MORE times during the day, but still is usually out again with in 2 hours in general. Later they will stay awake for many more hours like 4-5 or MORE and then you go through the stage of keeping them happy and occupied during that stage and how to do it! I see you've gotten a chance already! All of mine slept differently, my 2nd took 2 more more naps a day when she got older and slept GREAT at night! My 3rd was collicky, I don't remember ever sleeping for 6 months! LOL It happened I know but when..... it's a blurr. LOL

I think the longest for my little guy was 8 hours...but 7 hours is typical. I don't really mind it either. He's usually up from about 2 pm until 10 pm. It works out good for me though because that means he sleeps all through the night. He's 5 weeks old and he put himself on this schedule.
