Polyhydramnios - anyone???
Hi ladies,
I'm from the July Expecting Board and I was hoping someone could help me. At my weekly appointment (39 weeks) yesterday I measured large (again) and this time I got sent for an U/S and fetail weight assessment.
Turns out I have excessive amniotic fluid, which they said it called Polyhydramnios. Anyone else diagnosed with this? If so, what did your doc/MW do differently when you delivered? Or were you induced early?
I read that there is a higher risk of things like placental abruption or umbilical cord prolapse. My doc said I'll just need to get bi-weekly NSTs and weekly ultrasounds to check on things until I deliver; no early induction required they said. I'm trying not to panic but I'm reading about all kinds of increased risks, etc. I'm not sure I'm comformatble with their "wait and see" approach, even with the NSTs, etc. I feel like the lowest risk is to induce now, since I AM full-term technically.
Any BTDTs with experience, I would really appreciate any info you could share.
Thanks very much,
Joanna
