I'm really pleased that he won the Nobel Prize for peace.  It says a lot about how the rest of the world views our leader.  Such a welcome change!

I was surprised at first, a little confused. Then someone on another board gave a good explanation of what the prize is, why they probably chose him, etc. and now I just feel proud! If Mr Obama is the choice of the committee, so be it! I liked what he said, that he's accepting it as a call to action. I've read from others (who won't be happy no matter what he does) that he should have declined it, that he's narcissistic because he didn't, yada yada yada. It's like the Olympics bid all over again; something good for America under the Obama Administration???? Boo! <eye roll>

I did some quick research and it looks like he has done significant work in the area of nuclear disarment. He isn't too narccissistic otherwise that would have been more public knowledge. I also think his commitment to green collar jobs relate to world peace. I am so happy that other countries may start to see us in a more positive light! I totally agree that this should be a "call to action" It makes me want to try to do more for world peace. I'll have to do some research and see what I can get my family involved in.

I am a teacher for medically fragile teenagers, DH and I are equally sharing the care of our two fantastic boys and a house full of furbabies!

I'm happy to see the world react well to our President. It sickens me though to hear the Cons reaction to this. Some of our own citizens are spouting off that he doesn't deserve it.

Have they no shame? So now the Cons are against peace too? Oh...that's right...there's no profit in peace.  (BIG EYEROLL)
