I heard that it's more difficult to get pregnant while breastfeeding, but I was also told that just because I may not get a period for several months doesn't necessarily mean I'm not ovulating.  Anyway, I'm technically not breastfeeding, but exclusively pumping - my son receives only breastmilk and is not supplemented with formula.  He is 6 1/2 weeks old and my husband and I had an accident this morning (I guess we were just used to not having to worry about getting preg. over the last 9 mos :)  But now we're totally freaking out and any help, advice, personal experiences you could share would be much appreciated.  I really hope the odds are way low, because I can not imagine doing this all over again so soon.  Thanks in advance!

Melissa

oh boy!

Well, I have heard that you can get pregnant.  I know someone who got pregnant when their little one was 6 weeks.

Just don't do it again and don't beat yourself up! The timing would have to be just right.

Good luck

dawn

i dont know what your odds are but I have 5 children and I nursed throughout 4 of my pregnancies. After my first I got pregnant 4 months postpregnancy while I was nursing. I couldn't wean a 4 month old so I just kept nursing.  So, I think its all about your genes because I know some who DTD and have an AF, breastfeed and still do not get pregnant. Good luck.
