May 2007 Expecting Club

Okay, so are we the only people here who are really weird and just bathe the baby once a week? Liam's skin is super, super sensitive and as it is we slather him with baby lotion and he still is so dry for the few days after a bath that we don't dare do it more than that... (unless he starts to smell.... LOL!) Still, he's only (almost) 4 weeks, so I imagine that his skin will get a bit "tougher" as he gets older....

We bathe Connor only once or twice a week (every four or five days) for the same reason -- very dry and flaky skin (even though we lotion him up quite well). DH and I both have very dry skin and, after living in Europe, I've learned it's OKAY to go a few days between showers (I used to have a landlord in Paris who forbade me taking more than one shower a week -- not fun but I got used to it -- I DO shower about 3/4 times a week here in the U.S.).

Their skin will "toughen up" but until they're out running around in the mud and making major messes, I see nothing wrong with once or twice a week.

Tyler has sensative skin also, so he is bathed once, sometimes twice a week.

When the smell of formula can no longer be cleaned up with baby wipes. Nathan's skin is so dry that any more than that would cause major problems.
