If your baby is sleeping through the night (at least 6 hours), what are his eating habits? How often does he eat, and how much?

My baby sleeps seven hours straight, but he goes to bed at 8:00pm, so he is still up at 3:00am.  He has his last feeding about 7:30pm which consists of a little breast milk and up to 4 oz of formula.  He wakes up about 3am and nurses for about 20 min total.  He then sleeps until about 5am, then I give him a 4 oz bottle of formula.  Then he pretty much wakes up every hour for as long as we stay in bed and just nurses off and on.  He has another 4 oz bottle about 10am. Then for the rest of the day he nurses for about 20 min at each feeding along with usually 2oz of formula.  So in a nutshell, he has one meal of just breast milk, 1-2 meals of 4 oz of formula, and about 4 or so nursing/bottle feedings.

Our pediatrician made us supplement with formula starting at two weeks...my supply didn't keep up, but I am working on building it back up so I can eliminate some of the formula.

I give him the 4 oz of formula just before bed because it holds him over longer then the breast milk.

Very similar, just later. Nathan has his last feeding abt 2 am sleeps for 6 to 7 hrs then is up every 3 hrs for the day. He has 4oz EBM and 2oz formula. All day we alternate between formula and EBM. I had to supplement after I lost my milk due to health problems. I've built it back but not enough to keep up yet.He starts to prepare for the night around 8pm by cluster feeding every 1.5 hrs he takes 4oz then 2oz until he falls asleep around 2 or 3 am.

hope that makes sense

So when he's cluster feeding in the evening, do you give him some EBM and formula at each feeding, or do you give him EBM at one feeding and then formula at the next?

Depends on if there is any EBM left, if there is then both if not then just formula.
