How early is it to start putting rice in my daughters formula? I really don't think she is satisfied with what she is getting.

This is much too early. There is no proof that putting rice cereal will help with sleep, etc, especially since it is essentially empty calories and has no real nutritional value. Also, there are studies that show that introducing solids, such as the rice cereal, too early (before 4 months) can lead to an increased chances of allergies. I know that there are lots of people who will say "But I was fine, what's the big deal?", but that doesn't mean that others are "fine". My best friend's daughter has needed an epi-pen from 18 months for peanut allergies and no one on either side has the allergy. Better safe than sorry sometimes, in my opinion.

Perhaps try giving her more formula? She may just need it. I never got why there was the "no more than 4oz" kinda rules.

good luck :)

I have to agree w/ pp.

most experts recomend NOT putting rice cereal in bottles or introducin any "solids" before at least 4-6 mos.

for several reasons including an immature digestive system (which can cause  gas and tummy upset), increase in chance of alergies, obesity and  even pnuemonia it's even been suggested in a study that introducing rice cereal before 3 mos put baby at risk of type 1 diabetes

here's one article i know there are more i just can't find them right now-

I'd speak to her ped and see what she recommends.

Why do you think she is not satisfied? If she is very fussy she may have some issues with that brand and would do better on another type or brand of formula.
