Sometimes too many cooks in the kitchen can be a great thing! Do you ever call on your Momtourage for assist when it comes to meal planning? Maybe you all share advice on how to get your little picky eaters to eat? Or suggestions for the best brown-bag lunches or after-school snacks?  We want to hear any tips or stories or bits of advice that help make your food prep process work for you. Share your helpful hints and we’ll feature the best in Momtourage.

I am big on organic healthy foods and snacks. I am always giving out tips of how to get kids to eat healthier. One of the easiest things I have implemented is only offering 'junk food' once a day. Any other time they want a snack, it has to be something healthy like fruit, cheese sticks, sugar-free pudding, homemade sugar-free slushies, etc

As far as after-school snacks are concerned, my boys love smoothies. I throw a frozen banana in a blender with milk, ice and a cup of yogurt. They love it and think it tastes just like a milkshake!

We tend to share recipes that go over well in our house.  It's a great way to bring in new ideas for the family.  Making the same dinners over and over gets dull.  Some of my family favorites were passed on by friends or my step-mom.

Absolutely -- I definitely call on my momtourage for help with cooking.  I've gotten great recipes (that I've never heard of) that are delicious, quick to make and everyone eats.  I've also gotten help from a couple of friends with strategies for picky eating.  I've learned not to give too many choices -- it's peas or corn.  Not, "What vegetable do you want?"

As for actual cooking, the local pizzeria and chinese place are considered part of my momtourage. ;)  I'll call them up and have them deliver a great meal that everyone eats! :)
