1. What were SB's birth stats (height/weight) and what are her current stats?
Kara was 7 lbs, 9 oz when she was born...now she weighs 34 lbs, and I'm not sure how tall she is, but she wears 3T pants and the length is just a little long..but she has a long torso :)
2. Name and ages of SB's siblings (or siblings to be) None yet....I hope we add to the family, but I have to get DH on board and I really enjoy working part time, so that is part of the dilemma also
3. How long have you and DH/SO been together? How did you meet? We met at a wedding in Florida, and he lived in Louisiana and I was about to move to NC for grad school (and did move). We were long distance until we got engaged and married in January of 2001. So this January it will be 9 years (we were engaged 1 year and dated long distance for a year before that).
4. What is your birthday? How many siblings do you have? My birthday is December 20th and I will be 34. I have 2 younger brothers.
5. Where did you go to college and what did you major in (if you did)? I went to my undergrad at Florida Southern College and got a BM in Music (Voice Performance) then did my grad school work at UNC-Greensboro. I got my Masters in Music (also voice performance). I went back and got my teacher certification at Southeastern Louisiana University.
6. What kind of work do you do now? Right now I adjunct (fancy word for being part time with no benefits) at a community college here and teach voice lessons on the side the other days of the week. I teach 3 classes at the college, which is just right. We are poor, but oh well :) I taught full time (middle school choir) when Kara was born and for a year after that, but it was too much for me to handle.
7. What would be your ideal job?
I really like what i am doing now. I wouldn't mind cutting back on my voice students so I could be home more, but I can't complain.
8. What are some interesting places you've traveled to? We went on a cruise to Alaska while I was pregnant with Kara (we planned it knowing we were trying) and that was awesome. Would love to go back. The only other exciting places I've been have also been on a cruise- Mexico :) I would love to travel more!
9. Best piece of Mommy advice? Hmmmm....go with the flow? I'll have to think more on this one!
10. What is your favorite thing about your almost 3 year old right now? Her little bubbling personality. She is so funny and loves to be silly with me! She's really a lot like me personality wise, which is sorta scary, but I at least know how to deal with it. I think.
11. What is your least favorite thing? See #10...she can be fiercly independent, but really her temper tantrums were MUCH worse before she turned 2. Now that she can express herself, its better. She can just be really moody, (again, see #9) which can make planning things kind of difficult. She also is SUCH a mama's girl...I wish she'd let DH do more things for her, though this is getting MUCH better.
