Yaaay I'm excited to be MOTW! :-)
1. What were SB's birth stats (height/weight) and what are his current stats? Let's See...Zion's birth weight was 7lbs 5 oz. (and that's a month early folks, he was huge!) and I can't remember his length, but I think it was around 21 in? Now he's 37 lbs. and 37 inches! :-)
2. Name and ages of SB's siblings (or siblings to be) Well, I have one bun in the oven due April 17, 2010! Don't know if it's a boy or girl yet, but I'll find out in Nov. :-)
3. How long have you and DH/SO been together? How did you meet? We've been together 5 years, married for 2 yrs. We met in college, in a writing class that was required for everyone to take. I was his tutor ;-) Let's just say many late night tutoring sessions led to much more! haha We both say it was love at first sight though...I'll never forget the first day of class him walking in and it really was one of those moments where I knew life would never be the same after just seeing him :-)
4. What is your birthday? How many siblings do you have? My birthday is October 30th..woo hoo 4 more days haha! I have 4 siblings...3 sisters and a brother, and I also have a brother and sister in law.
5. Where did you go to college and what did you major in (if you did)? I went to college in Massachusetts, just north of Boston. I started out a Social Work major, but when little Zion came on the scene I changed to Sociology which had less requirements so I could finish in December 2006 before he was born!
6. What kind of work do you do now? Well, I recently stopped working, but I was an Investigator for child protective services for our county social services agency. I will NEVER be doing that job again! I don't have the heart for it :-( Now I'm at SAHM again and LOVE it! :-)
7. What would be your ideal job? Actually, I'd like to totally jump career tracks and become a Certified Nurse Midwife eventually...I think i'll start studying again once baby #2 is a little older.
8. What are some interesting places you've traveled to? I love traveling so I've been lots of places: England, France, Tunisia, South Africa, and Swaziland, most of the east coast of the USA, and California!
9. Best piece of Mommy advice? Try to stick to some sort of structure for your day, but also learn how to roll with the punches if something throws off the routine! When I first became a mom I was VERY anti-schedule, anti-routines, etc., but I learned quickly that at least establishing some basic structure for when things happen is SOOO helpful! But I also know that not everything goes right, so it's important to be flexible too.
10. What is your favorite thing about your almost 3 year old right now? I LOVE Zion's growing sense of humor...he really "gets" jokes now and tries so hard to keep me and DH laughing all the time! I also love watching his personality develop more and more...he's such a sensitive, thoughtful child, which makes me so proud :-)
11. What is your least favorite thing? He can be SO stubborn!! If he is determined to do something, he WILL do it (or vice versa if he DOESNT want to do something!)
12. Tell us about your SB! Personality, favorite things to do, cute things he says and does, etc!
As I said above, Zion is a very sweet and sensitive child...sometimes it's scary how in tune he is with other people's emotions...like if I'm feeling sad one day I don't even have to be showing it outwardly for him to come up to me and say "Mommy needs a hug..its okay mommy". He loves making people laugh too! He is very musical, and by far his favorite instrument is the drum..he's got a great sense of rhythm :-) He also loves to sing just about anything from kids songs to pop and R&B (much to his grandparents dismay haha) He's learning how to express himself really well and one of my favorite things is just to have a conversation with him about anything...he can keep up a conversation better than some adults I know! He LOVES going to the playground..fortunately we have two within walking distance of our house, and if we don't go out at least once a day he freaks out. He's very close to my dad, who he calls Pops...he always tells me Pops is his best friend :-) He's still very much a mama's boy too, although him and DH are definitely building that male bond now that he's old enough to really roughhouse and do "boy" stuff together! I can't think of cute things he says off the top of my head...but if you're my friend on FB i'm always posting stuff he says on there! :-)
Thank you henryrabbit (Amanda) for the beautiful siggy!!
