Hey ladies, sorry I haven't been around much the last couple of weeks. It has been so busy here with... well LIFE! I am going to answer questions and hopefully my obligations as MOTW will get me in the habit of popping around again!!
1. What were SB's birth stats (height/weight) and what are his current stats?
Kaleb was 8lb 11oz at birth and now weighs about 35lb and I am not sure on the height.
2. Name and ages of SB's siblings (or siblings to be)
Kaleb has a little brother (22 months his junior) named Mikiah David
3. How long have you and DH/SO been together? How did you meet?
DH & I are highschool sweethearts. He asked me out at the beginning of our grade 11 year and I promptly turned down him and his unibrow (ewww). Well suffice to say that some time during the course of the year he discovered the marvel of the razor and I discovered that he was really a great guy. The rest is history... we dated for 3 yrs, were engaged for 1 yr and then got married 7.5 years ago. Essentially we have done most of our growing into adults with each other. It is fantastic.
4. What is your birthday? How many siblings do you have?
My Birthday is Sept 12th, I am the eldest in my family. My sister was born when I was almost 2 and my brother the year I started grade one.
5. Where did you go to college and what did you major in (if you did)?
I attended a few universities. I attended a private university for my BA (major in English Lit and Minor in Bio) and then the public university in the city where Trevor got a job for my 2 year after degree (Bachelor of Education). I also attended another university one summer semester to lighten my work load for the coming year.
6. What kind of work do you do now?
90% of the time I am a proud SAHM, but I do like to exercise my teacher brain and escape from the kiddos a few times a month and I do this by substitute teaching at the school I used to teach at.
7. What would be your ideal job?
I think I have it. I get to do what I love. I would like to add a third child to our brood, but not immediately.
8. What are some interesting places you've traveled to?
I haven't travelled a whole lot, but I did teach English in Bosnia one summer and then spent some time relaxing in Croatia at a fantastic B&B with grapes growing on the trellis and a beautiful view of the Adriatic sea. Once our kids are all a few years into school we plan to pull them out of school and travel for a full year... we'll have to see where we end up going.
9. Best piece of Mommy advice?
I realize how quickly time flies. Everything is a stage. Allow yourself to fail and surround yourself with other moms who can give you this perspective and practical, non judgmental advice.
10. What is your favorite thing about your almost 3 year old right now?
I am finally in his head! He talks so much and has NO filter so it is fun and rewarding to see how he thinks. I also love how amazed he is by the world. His unbridled enthusiasm for the great and small is so endearing. There will be plenty of days to come where he will need much more than a neat coloured bug, a 99 cent helium balloon or a free thomas the train catalogue to make his day.
11. What is your least favorite thing?
The whining and his stubborn streak, but he is a pretty agreeable kid for the most part.
12. Tell us about your SB! Personality, favorite things to do, cute things he says and does, etc!
Maybe I will come back to this question... with some pictures tomorrow!!
