We are on a waiting list at a clinic in my town and I'm also waiting for his Ped's office to get them. I wasn't going to get it for him but he's recently been diagnosed with asthma that only flares up when he's sick so I got scared. Every time he even gets a runny nose it turns into him needing a nebulizer and 2 inhalers.  So...hopefully we'll be able to get him the shot pretty soon.

My boys got the first dose. They are the only ones at daycare to have gotten it and it is in really short-supply here. The ped told me not to expect the second dose and that the one should provide "some" immunity. GREAT.

That's my concern too...that when it would be time for Wyatt's 2nd shot they will be out...

I am taking him and I to a vaccine clinic tomorrow for high risk groups. If the line isn't hours and hours long then I plan on both of us getting the vax. I'm just not sure if Wyatt will be able to get a second shot because 1) they'll probably be out by then and 2) that's when my EDD is so I'm not sure how I'll manage getting Wyatt somewhere to get another shot...unless my Ped can give it to him at the same time I take the baby in for one of her first visits.

I took Anna in for her first dose on Tuesday. I will take her back after the 21 days providing its still as easy to get as it is tthis week. We waited in line for 2 hours. Hopefully our Doctor will have some in by then.
If it makes you guys feel any better I read in the paper not too long ago that they are doing a study and so far the results show that most toddlers and young children only need 1 dose of the Vac. Obviously the study is new right now and the results are not being reported yet but from what I understood it was pretty conclusive that they had built up a good immunity with just the one dose. I will still take Anna for her 2nd dose unless I am told otherwise but don't be too worried if you can't get the second dose right away.
