Okay. I know I have posted a few posts saying I have some good news. I do. I have a lot really, but this is the BIG news (for me anyways).
I got my certificate in the mail Monday!! Just 18 days after my test for my CDA and I get my certificate!!!! I DID IT! I accomplished my goal I worked so hard on the past year and a half. I am even on a national registry with 200,000 qualified CDA's. YAY!! I am so happy it is all done. I feel great to have finally completed an important part of my career.
I had went to work on Monday, my first day back after summer. Finished up lunch when DH calls to say I have important mail from CDA. He asks, 'what should I do with it'? Ummm DUH! Bring it to me!!! I couldn't finish out my work day with the knowledge that it was sitting at home waiting for me, I had to know right then! I got to share with my co workers (many of which have gone through the process themselves) and finish out my day on a good note.
After work DH took me and the kids out for dinner to celebrate. Oh, and he came in to work in the middle of our afternoon meeting with Brennan to deliver half a dozen pink roses to me. I was embarrassed that he kinda interrupted an official meeting, but fortunately my supervisors thought it was sweet and romantic, so it wasn't so embarrassing after all. It was a nice way to start off the new school year. However, I am the envy of two of my co workers who tested at the same time as I and have not received their certificates as of yet. They called home to double check and are keeping an eagle eye out for their mail.
Thanks for the encouragement everyone has given over the past several months here. It helps to have people who offer encouragement. Sometimes this board was what kept me sane while writing all of those essays and projects for my portfolio. Heck, there are days this board is all I have to keep me sane at all LOL!
