I'm late, I know, but better late than never I suppose. Let's chat it up ladies! What's November like for you?

Well, last week was my birthday (I'm 31!) and Halloween, so that made life pretty busy last week but so much fun. I finally decided to dress up like a magic 8 ball (my answer was 'yes, in due time'). Pretty simple, but being huge I really wanted simple. We were so worried Brennan would be too scared to trick or treat but he did surprisingly well. He was too scared to even try on costumes the week before, but with letting him have that week to explore his costume options without trying them on in his own way and in his own time payed off and he chose to wear the Elephant costume (the tiger costume made scary noises apparently and he really wasn't into the duck one) and we trick or treated for about 45 minutes and then walked home, but of course daddy took the older two out to trick or treat right up to the end.

Now this weekend is our 11 year anniversary. I really can't believe we've been married that long!! Time flies when you're having fun I guess.

Thanksgiving is obviously upon us as well and that will be big this year. Grandma has been ill and we're pretty much the closest family in proximity to help her so we'll be doing a lot of cooking since she insists that certain things MUST be made and she HAS to supervise the cooking to be sure it's done right. Seriously this woman is dying and she THINKS she is going to be in the kitchen! So, we'll be stepping in to make sure she isn't. I swear I'll have to spend the night just to be sure she doesn't get up and start at 5 am! That and we'll have to start the turkey that night. I hope when I am 80 years old I have the same stubborn attitude, but it worries me that she wants to do so much.

Sounds like a super cute costume AND like you've been keeping busy, mind of the babe.

my sewing skills are summed up in a short bit, but I did make Fred and Wilma Costumes a few years back for DH and I .....and then a few years later, he went as a Deviled Egg (a white t-shirt with a big yellow spot, then red face paint and horns!) and I sewed the yellow on his t-shirt....I'm not as horrible as I make myself out to be, but I certainly am not at the level where I could make anything OTHER than a costume :)

What's going on here? well, we were supposed to get Ruby's 1-year photos taken today, but we've got a nasty front moving in (let me just say, YESTERDAY would have been perfect!) and it's predicted to be pouring all afternoon, and since she does outside stuff, that's not going to work. I'm a bit upset as we're already 3 weeks after her birthday and now we're going out another 2 weeks....and her 6 month shoot happened at 5 months because the photographer was due right around her 6-month birthday. So we're going to be even further apart. And DH got mad at me for wanting to get both the pictures they took at school eventho one is seriously goofy! Sorry, I want REAL photos at all the ages. So that's that...and it'd better not rain on the 18th! HAHAHAHA...who am I kidding?

So I'll have to have DH call and tell daycare he won't be coming until the normal time and then I'll shoot an email to my boss telling her I won't be leaving early today, but I will be on the 18th. hmmm, wonder if DH wants to see if he can take Ruby in for the second half of her seasonal flu shot today....he's working from home (for what would have been to ease my haste in getting Ruby ready and into Seattle by 3pm).

I'm also freezing, right after I was talking to my coworker about how I just didn't think I'd be able to wear long sleeves much because I just get so hot now. it's bad that I have a thermometer on my pencil cup....it's normally right around 74, but this morning it was 71....that's a big difference when you're sitting on your bum!

Thanks for the birthday wishes. It was a nice and quiet birthday...just how I like it. :)

I hope the 18th goes well for Ruby's pics! GL!
