I am guilty.
I am one of the parents who let their baby sleep on their tummy. I honestly dont see the problem with it. I did it with DS#1 and now doing it with DS#2. Of course, I didnt allow it until they knew how to turn their heads, and I do check up on them every several mintues to see if they moved, but they sleep so much better and secure because their legs and arms arent waving around their face and it just looks more comfy.

Am i the only mother who has let their babies sleep belly down? You would think that this was the way OUR parents made us sleep when we were babies and we turned out fine. But in all seriousness, I dont see a problem with it. Im not looking for debate, but are there mothers who feel the way I do?

There's quite a few parents that do this--we're all down in the 2008 playgroup if you want more answers though. :)

I have just started to put my son down on his belly but only during the day. He naps in his pack n play which is in the living room right near me and I am checking on him every few minutes. I have noticed that he takes much longer, restful naps now. Before he would wake after a few minutes after being put down. Don't feel guilty, as long as he is safe and you are supervising, I think it is ok. Think how exhausting it must be for them not to nap restfully!
