So I have been feeling really unattractive lately. I was about 15 lbs overweight before I got pregnant and it was really bothering me (I am short so that is a lot for me)....  So now I am still overweight and feel like I cannot diet or it might be risky for the baby...  And I am tired and feel just downright old and ugly.  My dad took some pics a few weeks ago and tagged me on Facebook and I look just awful!!!

Is this normal?  Any suggestions on what to do?

You don't have to diet to lose weight.  Eat healthy and portion control.  If you gained weight prior you obviously weren't doing that so do it now and walk.  My cousin was about 100 lbs overweight when she got pregnant, her Dr. put her on a healthy balanced plan so she would not gain more and she literally weighed less when she had the baby.  You can allow the baby to literally take your weight.  I told a friend about this, she did the same and also lost weight while pregnant.  I am a firm believer in if you eat healthy you feel healthy. Avoid the heavy carbs that make you tired too. I was a dieting freak, anerexic for years and the hardest thing to learn was diets don't work but eating healthy does. I am 40 and look better than I did at 16 because of it. Best thing is I look healthy, not sick.

Very good advice.

Do you have any tips for eating healthy when you have no energy?  I literally don't feel like spending more than 5 minutes preparing a meal...

Are you taking vitamins? That should help you have more energy.

Also... it's normal to feel kind of ugly while pregnant, but just know that your preggo body is beautiful.  Producing another life is the most beautiful thing there is.  Don't let the hormones tell you otherwise!

I thought I was hideous, but looking back now at the few pics I have, I really was pretty cute even though I was very sick.  I didn't want anyone taking pictures of me because I felt ugly and sickly, but now I regret that because I have very few pics of my one and only pregnancy. :(

Oatmeal or special K for breakfast, an egg doesn't take long to cook either, make some hard boiled to have on hand for egg salad sandwich if you like those of course.  Snack on Apples and celery with cheese or peanut butter, baby carrots,  Almonds, yogurt, smoothies, you can make  them ahead when you have energy and freeze.    You should eat little stuff like that every couple of hours.

Soup, there's lot of healthy ones out there. Baked potatoe (light on the toppings).  Quesadilla's with chicken or refri black beans, lite cheese (I put these in the fry pan with tiny bit of olive oil just to get crisp) but you can put them in the micro. Turkey sandwich or better yet turkey wraps with spinach, feta cheese and little bit of rasberry dressing. Grilled cheese on wheat.  Portion control is a really big part of it, I eat most anything I want but the bad stuff, just a little bit! Bite size snickers vs a whole one etc.

Those are on the top of my head, I am sick and not totally there but I will jot more down when they pop in my head and send to you.  Granted some stuff might not agree with you being preggo's I know my sis couldn't eat beans at all.  Stay positive.  :)
