Hi ladies,

I'm a regular on TTCYFC and I've been lurking on this board for a few months and I think it's time to join. I've enjoyed lurking on here and seeing the longtimer BFPs. I hope that all of you who have worked so long and so hard for this get your well-deserved BFPs soon. I keep rationalizing that I'll get pregnant soon and there will be no need to join this board -- but it hasn't happened, yet. So, here I am.

I'm Rebecca (34) and my DH is Clay (39) in Missouri. We've been TTC for a little over a year, now -- this is cycle 14. My charts show that I O regularly and DH's S/A in May was excellent. I had an HSG during cycle 10 that showed a likely blocked right tube, some possible scarring at the end of the left tube and a possible uterine polyp. My RE recommends a laparoscopy/hysteroscopy to check it all out, but we're finding that financially prohibitive at the moment (my insurance is really bad for all this and won't even cover bloodwork). We'll probably have to break down and do it eventually, but my doctor's office is working on the financial part right now.

For the past four months we've been *attempting* to do a medicated IUI in the hopes that we will increase the likelihood of catching an egg down the left tube. First month was on clomid but no IUI because I was traveling. The next month large cysts appeared so meds were canceled. The next month was on clomid and had great follies -- but a very thin uterine lining (less than 4.5 mm) so the IUI was canceled. Now, this month larger more numerous cysts are back, again, so meds are canceled, again. It's really getting old.

This month we're trying on our own and I'm trying to ignore the periodic pains from the cysts. If no natural BFP, we'll be back trying for a medicated IUI again -- with femara, most likely, since my body doesn't seem to like clomid (or likes it too much).

Hoping that no one has too be on this board too long!! GL to everyone out there!

Rebecca, Welcome to TTCYFC 6+ months. I remember you from somewhere- I think the IUI board? Anyway while of course I am sorry you are in the situation as we all are I am glad you have decided to de-lurk and join us. Hopefully Femara does the tricky for you and you can graduate soon.

Like you I have no coverage for infertility, not even testing. However sometimes you can get procedures covered under another code. For example I had a fibroid in the cavity and recurrent miscarriages...while my insurance doesn't cover treatment to get pregnant, it does cover procedures to prevent recurrent miscarriage. So I was able to get the surgery covered. Uterine polyps can cause heavy bleeding. If you say you have heavy bleeding, you may be able to get a hyseterscopy covered and the polyps removed at least. Polyps, like fibroids, can act as an IUD, preventing pregnancy or causing m/c.

Welcome and GL...I hope you'll feel free to jump right in and start posting and responding to posts. Don't be shy— we're a friendly bunch!

Welcome Rebecca! I'm sorry about all of your recent cancellations, I know it's tough to keep your chin up with roadblocks like that. Some info about me is in my siggy.

I second what Jenna said about coverage -- many women on this board got their laps covered when it was coded for pain as opposed to infertility. I'm lucky enough to have excellent IF coverage (I live in MA, a mandatory-coverage state) but I still had my OBGYN code my lap for pain, just in case. It's worth asking them about it!

I hope your stay here is short & sweet - but while you're here, this is a great bunch of ladies!

Hi Rebecca - I just wanted to wish you luck and hope your stay here is short and sweet! It's SO frustrating when having a baby comes down to finances (don't even get me started on that...). I hope it all works out for you.

Good luck!
