Hey everyone!! I haven't been on these boards since after I had my DD back in 2004.  I just got a HPT on friday and took it..I know I conceived around 9/13 because of ovulation date was around then and that's the only time it was possible to happen.  I am a little concerned that my body produced so much HCG within 3 weeks of conceiving that I got a positive immediately..is that cause for concern for multiple babies!?  When my daughter was conceived I knew about 3 weeks afterwards but it was a very faint line..this was definitely dark..as soon as i was finished peeing on the stick! Just wondering if maybe I'm a broodmare and my body is just kicking into overdrive or it's normal for a person to have that quick of a response time when they are only 3.5 weeks along..tomorrow will be 4 weeks since ovulation.

Thanks for your input!!

Amanda

Congratulations, Amanda!

I wouldn't worry about the darkness of the line.  The sensitivity of HPTs depends on a lot of factors and they are meant to be read as positive or negative only.  The only way to know the amount of HCG is through a blood test.  Generally 2 weeks past ovulation is the right time to test, so 3.5 weeks past ovulation seems like the right time to get a positive result immediately.  If you are 4 weeks past ovulation, you are actually considered 6 weeks pregnant.  This article explains more:

Hope that helps!

I don't think so... at least not in my case. I conceived on/around August 10 and was positive on August 26, and there's only one baby in here! Even a trace amount of HCG will appear on a test, and three weeks should be plenty of time for the hormone to appear.
