Audrey Renee Anne is here!
Our little girl decided to hold out as long as possible and was born Thursday October 22nd at 4:11 PM. She weighed 8 lbs even and 20 inches long and is perfectly healthy!
The Monday before we had a ultrasound done that showed the amniotic fluid level was borderline on being dangerous, we decided to wait until Wednesday and see if things changed. I spent all Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday morning soaking in the birthing pool and drinking TONS of fluids to try to prevent it from going down. Wednesday the 21st the ultrasound showed it was still the same so after discussing it with our midwife we decided that we would try to stimulate labor at home that night and if I didn't go into labor by noon on Thursday we would go to the hospital and be induced. After my normal sporadic contractions during the night I woke up at 7:30 AM feeling a little down because I didn't want to go to the hospital. I told DH we should go for a walk and get me moving. Before we even got out of bed and dressed contractions started (8AM) and started out 2-3 minutes apart. Labor went really fast and the last half of it contractions were back to back. It was a very intense labor and I didn't have time to breath it felt like. But 8 hours later at 4:11 PM I gave birth at home to our beautiful baby girl! There was a lot of meconium but after our midwife suctioned her out she was perfectly fine!
I'm sorry I didn't get to post sooner, the first 48 hours were extremely rough as we didn't realize or know that Audrey wasn't getting any milk from me. After seeing a lactation consultant we figured out that because of my past breast surgery I have very low milk production. We have been pumping and supplementing to try to get things going so I haven't much time to anything but nap, pump and feed my baby! LOL I will try to keep up the best I can on here but please understand it's a little hard right now :-)
Here are some pictures of Audrey :-)
