Two- and Three-Year-Olds

Hi all! Since the board has slowed a bit, I thought we'd try a month long chat thread.

How is everyone doing? How are our 2/3 yos doing?

Hi Amber, I just have 5mts to post this message as I am swamped with meetings throught out the afternoon.

We drove down to VA to my brother's house last Thursday. My PM didn't approve of my leave, so I worked from there on Friday and Saturday. I am happy that I managed it pretty well and had a blast with the kids and with my SIL and one of my good friends on Sunday. We drove back to Toronto yesterday.Aparna had tonnes of fun with my niece and nephew.

This week saturday is our hindu festival Diwali - festival of lights which is like Xmas here. There was a Diwali fair in VA and my SIL and I got lots of Indian dresses & jewellery  from there. We got a super cute dress for Aparna - I can't wait to take her pictures in that dress.Will share them over the weekend.

My work is still crazy. Not having breathing time and having my FIL to care about at home is really challenging. DH helps me a lot but its been more than 2 weeks that we haven't shared any intimate time..It pisses me like hell, but I am trying to be a different person by being patient(LOL) and adjusting!! For a change DH is so supportive of me, so little things dont piss me off and we get over with our misunderstandings faster this time. We want to TTC soon (I know 5 of my friends who are Pg with their 1st,2nd and 3rds) but not having any time puts us down. Sorry for the little rant.

Hope all is going great with everyone. I miss chatting with you all. Has your DH moved back with you? What are plans for halloween? I still have to figure out a dress after this weekend.I always buy it at the end!!

Hi vidhya :)

Logan is sick :( he had this horrible cough yesterday morning.. but seemed to not bother him... so we sent him to go to daycare yesterday.. the cough seemed a little worse last night, so we brought him into the minute clinic. I'm so annoyed that they won't test for H1N1... grr... we suspect he actually has croup.. but the doctor said that we should probably keep him out of daycare for 5 days anyways, just incase. Anyways.. I'm leaving work shortly to go be at home with him. Poor kiddo. He woke up at 2am last night screaming... I had to give him motrin and wait for it to kick in. He was still sleeping when I left for work this morning.

       I hope Logan feels better very soon.  Why wouldn't they test for H1N1?

        We had some fun the last two weekends.  Two weekends ago, we went to a pumpkin patch. Annie loved it.  We brought home a pumpkin, went on a hayride, went through a corn maze, and went on a mini train ride.  Then last weekend we went to a farm about two hours from our house in a more rustic area.  We picked raspberries there, looked at farm animals, and they had some kiddie rides there, too.  They also have apple picking over there and hay rides but we ran out of time.  There were actual little snow flurries up there for about half an hour, though.  I don't remember an October this cold.  Usually, you can go out with just a sweater up until Halloween.

      I am not working now.  I'm not sure when I will go back. I work on a project to project basis, so I can take all the time I want.  I just don't get paid.  Annie could not get into preschool because she is not fully potty trained. So we're working on that.  She is quite resistant to sitting on the potty these days.  I ordered a Disney Princess potty for her as she loves the Disney princesses.  We should be getting it any day now in the mail.

       To make up for not going to preschool, Annie is going to Gymboree Music and Art class, ballet for tots, and Italian class.  She enjoys going, especially ballet class.  Even though I'm not working, the time really flies super fast.

      I always enjoy reading about your weekends.  You are always so busy. The Indian Festival of Lights sounds very interesting. I've never heard of it before.  What is it?  I think Indian dresses are so beautiful.  You will have to post a picture of the one you bought Aparna.
