...washing their kid's mouth out with soap for saying a dirty word. Actually they made her eat soap and she had a reaction to it. WDYT? Sound off on your thoughts of washing your kid's mouth out with soap for cursing. Is it fair to do if you in fact curse in front of them?
I don't think it's child abuse to wash it out, or put a little in their mouth, but you shouldn't make them eat it. That's just stupid. I know my mom did it once to me and that's all I needed. I swear today, a lot but I never swore in front of her again until I was 18. I don't really care about swearing, I feel as a free country you should be able to say what you want but I do think excessive swearing is uncalled for.
I agree that it shouldn't be child abuse unless you are gagging them with the soap or hurting them while doing it or making them eat it. A bar of soap on the tongue is definitely memorable. My dad always used castor oil though and THAT was nasty. The taste stayed with you for a LONG time. Yuck. I can still remember it.
Nope, I don't think its child abuse. Excessive. Yeah. But not abuse. Kid lived to see another day and, I'm guessing won't say THAT word again. I had it done to me, my mom had it done to her and no, I haven't had to do it...yet. I'm sure I will, eventually. I'm the mom of a Colton Carl.
