40- and 50-Something Parents

im here, just sort of, I complete forgot I was in the thread and this board, ever since summer came its either been run run run or something going on. right now I am remodeling my kitchen... when I took out the drawers from one of the cabinets a coupon fell out, it was for 12cents off Rain Barrel, it expired in 1973.. so you can tell how old my kitchen is.

Im not doing anything too expensive, you would be surprised how much you can do with 500 bucks and a great Menards sale. I have only been in the house for 5 years and well i think its time I do something more then just paint.
so how is everything going on your end?

I was the CL on the pregnant after 40 board for a couple of years. Im so glad it is going strong over there. I will post more when I have more time on Monday. I try and take off on the weekends! Have a good weekend!

Welcome to the board.  I posted to this board many years ago and just managed to find my way back a month or so ago.  I'm Mary step mom to two Laura 39 who lives in Colorado with our first grandson Corwin 7, Eric 36 who lives in Seattle with our second grandson Joshua 4, and Nora 2 and mom to four young men Jason 29 and Carrie who married June, 2007, Justin 26, Nathan 24, and Logan almost 20.  Stilll have Justin, Nathan, and Logan at home which is really OK with me.  I know what you mean about one more being in house and not noticing; Logan's friends always seem to end up here and I once vowed to install a revolving front door:)  We've lived in Midland, Michigan for the last 28 years and I originally hailed from Cleveland, Ohio.  A work transfer for my husband brought us here. 

I completely agree with the importance of family and was very concerned that my guys were never going to get it; during the teen years there was always bickering and competition like crazy.  I am finding that the older they are getting the competition is waning a bit but they are definitely realizing the importance of family:) 

I hope to see you much more of you on the board and look forward to hearing more about your "brood."
