I called Ali today and she had a little boy Ryan 7pound 2. Spent awhile in hospital, and now adjusting to BF, sleep etc,, said she doesn't know when she'll get online.
From what she said everyhting went well.
I knew it! I guessed boy way back when she first told me! Welcome, little Ryan! I hope she is able to drop the details to us soon. Did she give any details? Date? Her pregnancy mirrored my first so much.
She didn't say which date, but from what she told me I think it must have been around 26 April, she spent 8 days in hospital. Had a very long labour (3 days), they gave her pethidine (the only thing she didn't want), her mum is there with her at home.
Struggling to Breastfeed as he doesn't latch properly, so she has been expressing and feeding him by bottle mostly, she said that this was very time consuming. She also said she didn't want to tell me how hard it was with a new baby, so she didn't scare me.
Thats about all she told me, he woke up and started crying so she had to go.
Thought that I should let you know that my SON Ryan James D’Costa was born
on Sunday 27th April 2003 at 4.32pm. He weighed a very respectable 3245g
(7lb 2oz) and was 50cm long. Smack on average for a full term boy. He has
brown eyes and hair like his Mum and I can’t see any resemblance with Chris
as yet…

I did last 6 weeks though. So, I have had the good and bad. Have you ever heard of the book "what to expect the first year?" Its a big help for all new moms. If you have access to it, I would highly recommend it.
