Thank you so much ladies for getting me through the last few days (weeks...) with all this waiting. We just have a few more days to go until we can leave, because everything was set TODAY!!
The interstate approval took one day at each office, so the little bummer is that it's done TODAY and we have to wait until next week for placement, but it moved much faster than anyone in the agency is at the moment, so at least that's good and we're not dependent on that to get her.
Placement is set for next Tuesday at 2:30, birth mom, her 2 brothers and their wives will all be there, and we're so excited to meet everyone! I can't tell you really how thrilled we are that we will get to spend some time with all of them, it means so very much.
We leave on Monday and get into NYC around 4, so we have time for one last pre-parenting night of fun in the big city, and might try to hit MOMA in the morning to distract ourselves :) We're staying Tuesday night because there is no way to get back without a major layover, so we fly back Wednesday afternoon.
We did end up booking the hotel next to the agency last night, and they gave us a discount on the first night, but the second is a blackout date because of the world series so we had to pay full price. It evens out in the end because of the discount on the first night, so we're good. Airfare wasn't bad either, and the lady put a note about us traveling with an infant to try and keep the row open, so that was really nice.
So, I feel like the fates are back on our side today... still another 6 days until we hold her in our arms, but now that it's in sight I can breathe again. A little icing on the cake is that the curtains I ordered for her room on Monday night arrived today from jcpenney.com, with $4.99 ground shipping. Not a *huge* thing, but everything we've had to order online has been free or low shipping and hasn't taken more than 2 days to get here. Nice to get that treat when I got home today :)
Well, one giant post later.... Gotta go hang up those curtains!!
