Hi ladies!  I saw the link to this board on my Dec. Exp. Club board and decided I would click over.  My name is Brandi and I have a daughter, Madison who is 23 months old and am waiting for my next daughter, Stella to be born next month!  From the time that Madison was 6months old, we always heard stuff about how bright she was and I guess I always thought it too, but thought it was too hard to analyze it with her being so little.  Anyway, I am not sure if she is gifted or anything, but I think that there is something special about her!

She never ever crawled (still won't), and started walking a week before she turned 10 months old.  When we would take her to her gymboree class every week, she was doing things months before other children her age (not to mention she was born at 35 weeks).  Her vocab is a little over 200 words, she can count to 10, knows how old everyone in our family is, knows a lot of colors and all of the shapes that go into her shape sorter.  She will also tell you the colors and something that has that color, such as red is for elmo, yellow is for a banana.  She knew all of her body parts at 18 months old and has been following simple commands without gestures a little before 18 months old.  She knows about 10 different animals and what sounds they make.  She is not speaking in sentences yet, however.  She can click and unclick buckles, snaps, untie shoes, and is so so so determined to do whatever her little mind is set on.

She is very shy, but is slowly warming up to people.  She loves to play with friends and pretend she is a doctor for her baby dolls.  I rented a doppler for the beginning of this pregnancy, and Madison could use it all by herself and successfully find the doppler.  We had an US the other day, and she was trying to show the doctor how to find the baby on the "tv" as she put it.  She also feeds the dogs and her pet fish every day.

I don't know if she is advanced or anything, but I know there is something special about her!
